Andrew led UX for My Workweek, consolidating fragmented scheduling and patient-information workflows into a clinician-centered experience that reduced cognitive burden. He collaborated with researchers, product managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to shape product direction around clinical needs and technical constraints.
Veterans Affairs — Medical Calculator | Senior Product Designer / Senior UX Designer - Coforma
Andrew led UX for VA Clinical Decision Support’s Medical Calculator from concept through launch. He developed accessible interaction flows and reusable design patterns that supported the development of more than 40 medical calculators for VA clinicians.
Los Angeles County - Interactive Sample Ballot (ISB) | Lead User Experience Designer - Smartmatic // 2020
Andrew led UX design and launch of Los Angeles County’s first California-certified Interactive Sample Ballot (ISB). The product achieved 33% adoption among voters surveyed after the election and 87% user satisfaction, and has supported every state and federal election since 2020.
The ISB earned accessibility recognition from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission for supporting accessible and curbside voting through the county’s Flex Vote Center Program. The project also received a Government Experience Award from the Center for Digital Government.
The ISB met U.S. Election Assistance Commission VVSG requirements and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards.
Together.gov / Juntos.gov | Senior User Experience Designer - Coforma // 2021
Andrew led UX design for Together.gov/Juntos.gov, helping families separated by the U.S. government’s zero-tolerance policy access reunification and support services. Accessible, multilingual experiences and plain-language content reduced barriers to navigating a complex federal process.
The service enabled more than 2,200 separated families to register for assistance across more than 52,000 unique site visits.
The No Suprises Act | Senior User Experience Designer - Coforma // 2021
Andrew led UX design and research efforts to identify workflow improvements for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in response to the No Surprises Act. He translated complex policy requirements into UX and service-design recommendations for data collection, submission, and compliance workflows used by insurers, healthcare providers, and CMS teams.
Accessible Voting Guidelines and Design System | UX Design Director/Lead UX Designer - Everyone Counts // 2018
Andrew established shared design standards and modular, white-label templates across five election platforms, improving consistency and enabling client customization without redesigning each implementation. He translated U.S. Election Assistance Commission accessibility requirements into practical accessible design guidelines for online voting stystems and collaborated directly with engineers on reusable front-end components using HTML, SASS, and CSS.
The Big Fix | Logo Design - Local Motion // 2011
Andrew designed the logo for The Big Fix, a fundraising campaign by Burlington, Vermont nonprofit Local Motion to restore the historic Island Line Trail after damage from Hurricane Irene.
The identity supported the campaign’s fundraising communications. The campaign reached its $1.5 million goal within 104 days, and the trail reopened in spring 2013.
